The President of Uzbekistan took part in the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the opening ceremony of the V World Nomad Games in Astana.

The event, held at the Astana Arena, was attended by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and other foreign guests.

More than 2 thousand athletes from about 90 countries of the world, including representatives of Uzbekistan, take part in the tournament. Our compatriots will perform in such sports as kurash, alysh, tug of war, archery, horse racing, strongman competitions and others.

The participants were shown a theatrical performance dedicated to the rich culture and history, traditions and customs of nomadic peoples.

At the end of the ceremony, the head of our state left for Tashkent. Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov conducted the distinguished guest at the Astana International Airport.
