On September 2, representatives of government organizations and the public of Tashkent gathered to honor the memory of Islam Karimov.
The Head of our state Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the ceremony and laid a wreath at the foot of the monument to the First President of our country.
Islam Karimov is the leader who proclaimed the independence of our country and put it on the path of progress. In his speech at the celebration of Independence Day, the Head of our state emphasized the importance of this historic event:
"It is thanks to independence that our national statehood was revived. Uzbekistan has entered a new historical era. It is thanks to our independence that we have taken our rightful place in the global community."
On these significant days, we gratefully remember the patriots who fought for independence and contributed to the formation of our state. It was at this crucial moment in our history, in difficult conditions, that the First President was at the head of the country.
Surahs from the Koran were read at the Scientific and Educational Memorial Complex named after Islam Karimov. The merits of the First President in maintaining peace and stability in the country and improving the welfare of the people were noted.
During the ceremony, flowers were laid at the monument to the First President by representatives of the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration, the Cabinet of Ministers, ministries and departments, and the public.
Memorial events were also held in Samarkand and Karshi.
