The head of our state Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the boarding house for children with disabilities "Muruvvat" No. 1.
Uzbekistan is a welfare state. This corresponds to the eternal values of our people and the principle of respect for human honor and dignity. Over the past five years, funding from the state budget for Muruvvat houses has more than tripled. The number of employees and the capacity of these institutions have also been increased.
Last year, the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established in order to provide high-quality services and assistance to the population. Muruvvat houses, as well as many other social institutions such as boarding houses and rehabilitation centers, were transferred to the agency's system.
Last year, 624 billion soums were allocated from the state budget for the activities of these institutions. In addition, twice as much money has been allocated to provide them with medicines and medical products as before.
Before, the Muruvvat houses did not interact with each other. Today, they share their experiences and implement effective methods and educational practices.
Thanks to government support, the Muruvvat house in Tashkent has also been transformed. An additional building was built, and the old buildings were completely renovated. The gym, nursing and physical therapy departments, medical and educational rooms, assembly hall, library, bedrooms and dining room have been completely renovated. Each department and specialized rooms are equipped according to modern requirements. The institution is provided with special strollers for children with mobility difficulties.
The institution provides medical and social services to children with disabilities between the ages of 4 and 18. Today, 299 children are under guardianship. They are assisted by 334 employees, including qualified teachers, speech pathologists and doctors.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev observed the children's activities and warmly communicated with them. He stressed that every effort will be made to further improve conditions, create even greater amenities in the home, as well as help children with disabilities realize their potential.
The President expressed gratitude to the employees of the social service and highly appreciated their efforts and care for the children.
- Thank you so much for the fact that the children are in safe hands. This is a very difficult, but at the same time necessary and noble work," the head of state said.
An exchange of views took place on the rehabilitation of children and their social adaptation, psychological assistance to parents. In recent years, opportunities and a system of work have appeared in this area, and now it is necessary to improve conditions in other social institutions.
From now on, Muruvvat homes will be equipped with modern rehabilitation equipment and work according to a new concept, according to which children will integrate into society on the basis of individual development programs. Meeting rooms will be created in all Muruvvat houses.
"Support Clubs" will also be created, where qualified specialists will provide guardians with knowledge on how to care for children with disabilities, raise them in a family environment and adapt them to society. A "Care Group" will be created for children with serious illnesses who are not recommended for special education. Such services for children with disabilities will be organized in all regional rehabilitation centers.
The boiler room and engineering networks of the institution have also been completely updated. Decorative and fruit trees have been planted on the territory, street lighting has been installed, and the paths have been paved.
The blessed month of Ramadan is a time when we take special care of the sick and show even more support and attention to each other, which is a noble value of our people.
