The President of Uzbekistan congratulated the leader of Azerbaijan on the successful holding of the presidential elections

On February 7, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during a telephone conversation, cordially congratulated President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on the successful holding of early presidential elections.

Highlighting the high turnout and voter activity, the head of our state expressed confidence that the fraternal Azerbaijani people made the right choice by casting their vote for the future of the state, for a strong and prosperous Azerbaijan.

During the conversation, topical issues of further development of Uzbek-Azerbaijani strategic partnership relations were discussed. Special attention is paid to the full-scale implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level.

The positive dynamics of the development of trade and economic cooperation was noted with satisfaction. The trade turnover increased by 30 percent last year. A joint investment company has started work, and cooperation projects in the automotive industry, electrical engineering, textile, agricultural, tourism and other industries are in the active phase of implementation.

An exchange of views took place on issues of interaction within international structures, including the Organization of Turkic States. The schedule of upcoming events was reviewed.
