On January 11, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the production cluster of the Defense Industry Agency located in the Tashkent region.

At the initiative and under the leadership of the head of our state, a set of measures is being implemented to reform and comprehensively modernize the national Armed Forces, their gradual transformation into a new army that fully meets modern requirements and serves as a guarantor of state independence and sovereignty, a guarantee of security and prosperity of the people of New Uzbekistan.

So, in recent years, in order to improve the efficiency and quality of operational and combat training of troops, create modern conditions for improving their combat training, a number of training grounds with the necessary infrastructure have been created. This work continues consistently.

At the same time, priority is given to modernizing and increasing the potential of the domestic defense industry, which is rising to a new level. It is for these purposes that in January last year, the President instructed to transfer the Defense Industry Agency to the Ministry of Defense and take the necessary measures to further develop its activities.

The Agency has launched systematic work on mastering the production of demanded samples of military-technical products, the acquisition and supply of modern military equipment to the troops, as well as the modernization of existing weapons.

Today, during the visit to the facilities, the President was informed in detail about the measures taken and further plans to increase production capacity, strengthen the material and technical base of the Defense Industry Agency.

In accordance with the instruction of the head of state, large-scale construction works, major repairs and reconstruction of existing facilities were carried out in a short period on the basis of several technical units of the Ministry of Defense. An equipment repair plant and a Central storage base for automotive equipment of the Ministry of Defense were transferred to the territory of the cluster.

The enterprises located on the territory of the new cluster have been integrated, and a network of interconnected repair shops has been created. They carry out work on the repair and modernization of weapons and military equipment, radar installations, optical and electron-optical devices, repair of small arms and artillery weapons, as well as precision metalworking.

Having familiarized himself with the work of enterprises, the head of state stressed the need for broad involvement in the field of advanced technologies, creation of new jobs, and also gave instructions on further improvement of enterprises' activities.

In order to fulfill the tasks of widespread introduction of “green” technologies into industry, including defense, and in order to save electricity, solar panels have been installed on the territory of the cluster enterprises. This makes it possible to provide most of the production needs for electricity from alternative sources.

In addition, the head of state was presented with modernized samples of military equipment and weapons, the repair and modernization of which were carried out at the production facilities of the new cluster of the Defense Industry Agency.

During the demonstration of the products of defense industry enterprises, the head of state was shown in action a set of special equipment and devices that are part of the Soldier of the Future group complex. This complex has been developed by national specialists and is not inferior in its characteristics to analogues produced by the world's leading manufacturers.
