The President of Uzbekistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of bilateral relations



On December 28, a telephone conversation took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

At the beginning of the conversation, the President of Uzbekistan and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan warmly congratulated each other on the upcoming New Year, sincerely wishing the two fraternal countries and peoples peace, prosperity and prosperity.

The Head of our state conveyed greetings and best wishes to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

Topical issues of further development of Uzbek-Turkmen friendship relations, good neighborliness and in-depth strategic partnership were discussed. The progress in the implementation of previously reached agreements, including within the framework of the interparliamentary dialogue, was also considered.

The parties noted with deep satisfaction the marked intensification of mutually beneficial cooperation in all priority areas.

The volume of mutual trade is growing – by the end of 2023, the trade turnover will exceed $ 1 billion. Trading houses have been opened in the capital cities of Tashkent and Ashgabat, and joint work is underway to create the Shavat–Dashoguz border trade zone.

Cooperation between the leading enterprises of the two countries in the fields of industry, energy, agriculture, and transport is strengthening, and interregional contacts are expanding. Regular meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council were successfully held this year.

Joint events are held within the framework of the cultural and humanitarian program, including Cultural Days, tours of creative teams and others.

The sides also exchanged views on important aspects of regional cooperation in Central Asia. The meeting schedule for 2024 was reviewed.
