The President of Uzbekistan took part in the informal CIS summit



On December 26, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in an informal meeting of the CIS heads of state in St. Petersburg.

The event was attended by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

During the meeting, the main results of multilateral cooperation in 2023 were summed up and priorities for the coming year were considered. An exchange of views took place on the prospects for the development of multifaceted relations within the CIS, and topical issues of the regional agenda were discussed.

It should be noted that in recent years our country has been actively involved in the activities of the Commonwealth.

Uzbekistan has joined more than 20 sectoral cooperation bodies and 24 important agreements in priority areas and industries.

The portfolio of industrial cooperation projects with companies from the CIS countries has exceeded $ 30 billion and covers almost all industries.

The Head of our state emphasized the need to radically expand practical cooperation and increase the effectiveness of existing institutional mechanisms of cooperation within the CIS.
