On November 20, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the progress of projects implemented with the participation of international financial institutions in the field of drinking water supply, agriculture and healthcare.
In recent years, both the number and scale of projects implemented with the support of international financial institutions have been expanding. In particular, over the past seven years, $16 billion has been disbursed, 103 new projects have been launched.
As a result, 9 thousand social facilities and infrastructure were built and repaired, which made it possible to improve the daily lives of about 5 million people. 38 new large industrial facilities have been launched and 6.5 thousand high-paying jobs have been created.
At the same time, new technologies and modern approaches are coming to the sectors of the economy due to foreign investments.
However, not all industries manage to achieve high performance. For example, this year the Ministry of Agriculture is expected to use $238 million of funds from international financial institutions. This is much less than planned.
In general, in recent years, $ 2.4 billion has been attracted to the sphere, of which 1.3 billion has been disbursed. There are projects that are behind schedule. For example, the project to create agrologistic centers in Andijan, Samarkand and Tashkent regions is delayed.
11 projects worth $877 million are planned through the Ministry of Health. Most of them are implemented. However, the development of investments in projects for equipping nephrological and urological institutions, the construction of a multidisciplinary medical center for adults in the Yashnabad district of our capital, the creation of a national reference laboratory has not yet begun.
22 projects worth $2.1 billion are being implemented in the Uzsuvtaminot system. There is a possibility that 8 projects will not be launched on time.
It was indicated at the meeting that in most cases this is due to the activities of project teams.
The Head of our state instructed to increase the responsibility of ministers for the implementation of projects, to conduct a constant discussion of each project with the participation of international experts, to ensure the effective use of funds.
The responsible persons reported on the measures taken to accelerate work, eliminate delays, and implement high-quality projects by the end of this year and in 2024.
