The Olympic town will be a scientific, practical, educational and training center

On November 18, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the construction of the Olympic Campus.

As you know, in 2025 our country will host the Asian and Para-Asian Youth Games. The conditions for practicing all sports included in the program of these competitions will be created in the Olympic Town under construction. The area of the complex is 100 hectares. The main facilities are a stadium for 10 thousand seats and a velodrome for 2 thousand seats, a palace of water sports, complexes of single and team sports.

A four-storey administrative building, 15 outdoor sports grounds, running tracks and parks will also be erected. In general, 54 percent of the territory of the town will be occupied by green zones. It is planned to create artificial lakes on 37 hectares.

The project is being implemented jointly with the Chinese company CAMC Engineering, which has experience in the construction of sports facilities in 70 countries around the world.

A year ago, on November 9, the head of our state laid the first stone of this town. To date, work on the foundation of the main buildings has been completed. The structures of 5 complexes have been installed. About a thousand workers and engineers, special equipment are involved in the construction.

The President gave instructions on the implementation of foreign experience in the operation of the town, the adoption of security measures and the improvement of the territory.

- After the Asian Games, the complexes should not be empty, but should serve our people. Along with training, it is necessary to create a base for sports education, science and medicine. That is, this place will be a scientific and practical, educational and training center of our country," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

In the future, the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports, sports federations, the State Sports Academy of Uzbekistan and other departments will be located here. Sports facilities will be available to citizens for sports.

- In the future, it is necessary to connect children's sports schools with this town. This will serve as a bridge from mass sports to professional sports," the President said.

Since the Para-Asian Games will also be held in the town, sectors adapted to the needs of people with disabilities will be organized here.

On the recommendation of the President, the use of renewable energy is planned in the complex. Solar panels with an annual capacity of 10 megawatts will be installed on an area of 56 thousand square meters.

It also provides information about projects launched this year in accordance with the investment program of the city of Tashkent presented last year. It was noted that over the past period of this year 360 projects have been implemented in the field of production and services, a total of 20 thousand jobs have been created. It is also planned to create a new generation industrial zone on an area of 650 hectares in the Yangikhaet district.
