New Uzbekistan becomes a technological country

Created in 2017 on the initiative of the head of our state, the IT Park today plays an important role in the accelerated development of the IT sector of our country. Seven years ago, the IT sector was practically alien to Uzbekistan. Over the past short time, this field of information technology has become one of the leading. New Uzbekistan is becoming an increasingly attractive location for foreign countries. 

In 2017, the number of IT companies was 147, as a result of the creation of the IT park, their number has increased dramatically, and today there are 1,500 companies among the residents of the IT park. Among them are such well-known as Mohirdev, TASS Vision, MAAB Innovation, Green White Solutions, G-core, Modme, Aliftech.
Thanks to the tax and customs benefits provided, residents of the IT park create additional jobs, and the number of qualified IT specialists is growing in the country. Residents of the IT park provided jobs for 22.5 thousand people. Today they work fruitfully in such well-known companies as Revotech iTransition, Datasite, iTechArt. 
Our country continues to successfully realize its potential and creates even more opportunities to attract foreign companies. 
The introduction of a system of benefits and preferences is aimed at increasing the number of foreign companies among the residents of the IT park. In particular, residents of the IT park have been granted the right to pay dividends and salaries to foreign founders and foreign specialists in foreign currency by transferring to international payment cards. 
For IT specialists, investors, as well as foreign founders of the IT park, an IT visa is issued for up to three years. 
In order to speed up the processes of creating IT companies and registering them as residents of the IT park, the TashRush program has been implemented, within which the procedure for providing services on the principle of "one stop shop" has been established. Thus, the IT park helps foreign IT specialists to adapt after moving, as well as to get a job in a resident company. Thanks to this, IT companies can register as a legal entity on the principle of a "single window", find an office and pick up employees. 
It should be noted that seven years ago there were four foreign IT companies operating in our country, and today there are 221 of them. Examples include such well-known companies as Epam Systems, Exadel, Dyninno, East Games, AMC Bridge, Vention and Qulix.
If in 2017 the total volume of services rendered by residents of the IT Park amounted to 179.9 billion soums, then by the end of 2022 this indicator increased 32.2 times - 5.8 trillion soums. The volume of exports in 2017 amounted to 700 thousand dollars and in 2022 increased to 140.9 million dollars. The number of exporting enterprises has tripled. 
Among the main export destinations of IT Park residents are the USA, Great Britain, Singapore and CIS countries. 
In total, 12 regional branches of the IT park have been created in the republic, as well as representative offices in the USA and Germany. 
Since 2021, the types of activities allowed to be carried out by residents of the IT park have been increased from four to 18. These include robotics, data processing, IT outsourcing, implementation of venture financing and acceleration programs, development of multimedia, design, animation products using software. 
At the same time, more than 82.8 billion soums have been allocated for the implementation of 113 promising startup projects that have successfully passed the incubation and acceleration programs of the IT park. TASS Vision, Billz, IMAN, Sug'urta bozor, Modme, Arzon Apteka can serve as vivid examples of this. 
According to experts, today the development of the whole country directly depends on the development of the IT sector. That is why Uzbekistan, like other developed countries, focuses on creating favorable conditions for improving the IT ecosystem. 
If the development of the IT sector in Uzbekistan continues at an accelerated pace and the growth rate continues, then it is safe to say that in the next 5-10 years Uzbekistan will strengthen its position in the international IT market.
