It is symbolic that the visit of the French leader is taking place in Samarkand and began with Registan. There are many evidences of the ties that have existed between our peoples for a long time.
In particular, Sahibkiran Amir Temur - a great commander, patron of trade and science - had a great influence on the historical changes taking place in Asia and Europe. In the XV century, a monument to the "Liberator of Europe" was erected in his honor in Paris. Amir Temur and King Charles VI of France exchanged messages. In addition to political issues, much attention was paid to trade and economic relations in the correspondence.
In France, many scientific and artistic works are dedicated to the great Sahibkiran and the Temurids. The French philosopher and writer Voltaire wrote about Mirzo Ulugbek, the majestic Registan was described with love in the novel by the famous writer Jules Verne.
Today there is a French delegation in this square. The grandeur and beauty of the complex under the light of architectural illumination caused delight and admiration among the guests.
Here Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Emmanuel Macron took a joint photo.
Then the Presidents visited the historical and ethnographic park "Eternal City" in the international tourist center "Great Silk Road".
The main symbols of antiquity are concentrated in the complex and recognizable details of the sights of historical cities of Uzbekistan are reproduced. Along with national traditions, the history of international diplomacy is reflected here. In particular, the motives of the reception ceremony of the ambassadors of Korea, China, India and other countries, imprinted on the walls of the palace in the ancient settlement of Afrosiab, were used. The substantial and artistic content of the complex made a great impression on the guests.
