The current state and prospects of work in the field of geology are considered

On October 27, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with a presentation on the ongoing work to expand geological activities, plans to identify and develop promising sites.

In achieving the goals of the development of domestic industry, it is important to provide the economy with mineral resources. In recent years, in the process of transformation of the geological sphere, its material and technical base has been strengthened, scientific research and personnel training have been strengthened.

At the presentation, the head of state was informed about the work done in the industry, the measures taken to attract foreign partners and investors in the exploration and development of minerals, as well as plans for the future.

It was noted that in recent years, the volume of geological exploration has increased by 3 times compared to the previous period. The introduction of such advanced methods as 3D seismic exploration, aerogeophysics, cosmogeology, digital geology has begun. The University of Geological Sciences has been organized, where today 1.5 thousand young people acquire modern knowledge and skills.

At the same time, the legislative framework has been improved and other necessary conditions have been created for the broad attraction of private investment in geological projects.

Due to this, the number of entrepreneurs engaged in the search and development of deposits has increased 4 times. In the current year alone, $ 180 million of foreign investments were invested in geological work, and the total cost of the projects under implementation exceeded $ 2 billion.

After hearing the report, the Head of state identified the tasks facing the exploration sector next year.
