On October 13, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on the sidelines of the CIS summit in Bishkek.
Topical issues of the bilateral agenda were discussed.
The leaders noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of the Uzbek-Belarusian multifaceted relations. The indicators of mutual trade turnover are growing, the implementation of cooperation projects in various sectors of the economy continues. Joint events in the field of culture, cinematography and sports are regularly held.
The Heads of State stressed the importance of taking coordinated measures to further expand trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation, including organizing a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, a Forum of Regions and a meeting of rectors of leading universities of Uzbekistan and Belarus. The sides exchanged views on cooperation within the CIS and other international structures.
