President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with the Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, launched the supply of Russian natural gas to Uzbekistan through the territory of Kazakhstan.
At the ceremony, held via teleconference, the President of Uzbekistan expressed gratitude to the leaders of Kazakhstan and Russia for their personal support in the implementation of this project. He also thanked the specialists who took part in the work on the organization of gas supplies in the shortest possible time, the reconstruction of sections of the main gas pipeline, the modernization of compressor stations and the construction of a new gas measuring station "Beineu".
It was emphasized that the launched import of Russian gas in reverse mode is of strategic importance for Uzbekistan. This project is a breakthrough step in ensuring the energy security of our country, diversification of guaranteed sources of "blue fuel" supplies, provides additional volumes to cover seasonal consumption irregularities, reliable and uninterrupted supply of gas and electricity to the population.
They expressed confidence that the implementation of such a large-scale project and its results will serve to further strengthen relations between the three countries.
