On September 29, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held talks with Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Olaf Scholz as part of his participation in the first Central Asia–Germany summit in Berlin.
Topical aspects of the bilateral agenda were considered, issues of further development of Uzbek-German multifaceted cooperation were discussed.
Special attention is paid to the expansion of business partnership, deepening cooperation in economic, investment, transport, energy and other spheres of interaction.
It was noted that the official visit of the head of Uzbekistan to Berlin in May this year gave a powerful impetus to the activation of bilateral relations.
In recent years, the indicators of trade turnover and industrial cooperation have doubled. Such leading German companies as Volkswagen, MAN, CLAAS, Siemens, Linde, Aurubis, Henkel, Knauf, Papenburg, Deutsche Kabel and many others successfully operate in the country.
A new portfolio of projects has been formed in the mining industry, energy, chemistry, electrical engineering, textile industry and infrastructure.
The Head of our state outlined a number of new concrete proposals for the regular holding of joint economic events, the implementation of projects in the field of alternative energy, digitalization of agriculture and water resources management, deep processing of raw materials, expansion of financial instruments, strengthening ties between the regions of the two countries, cooperation in the field of migration and mobility.
They expressed mutual commitment to the development of cultural and humanitarian exchanges, the practical implementation of joint programs in the field of science and education.
The sides also exchanged views on issues of ensuring regional security, including in the context of the development of the situation in Afghanistan.
At the end of the meeting, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz to pay an official visit to our country.
