On September 29, in accordance with the business program, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the Economic Forum organized in Berlin under the auspices of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy.
The event was also attended by President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The German side was represented by Federal Minister for Special Assignments, Head of the Federal Chancellor's Department Wolfgang Schmidt, State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection Udo Philipp, Chairman of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy Katrina Klaas-Mulheuser.
In addition, the forum was attended by the heads of leading German companies and banks, such as CLAAS, Siemens Energy, Knauf, Linde, Papenburg, BayWa, WILO, IPEX-Bank, Commerzbank, AKA, Mangold Consulting, Deutsche Bahn, DB E.C.O., Euler Hermes, Ernst Klett, SMS Group, Deutsche Bank, Evonik Industries, John Deere, BASF, Airbus and others.
The Leader of Uzbekistan stressed with great satisfaction that today's event is evidence of the growing interest of German business in expanding its activities in the market of Central Asian countries.
The prospects of investment, innovation and technological cooperation, the implementation of cooperation projects in high-tech industries, as well as in the field of "green" energy, deep processing of raw materials, logistics and transport, personnel training were noted.
– Together we are doing a lot of work to modernize the leading sectors of the country's economy, creating efficient value chains and thousands of new jobs. We are interested in the emergence of new platforms and permanent platforms for open dialogue," the President of our country noted.
The development of Uzbek-German trade, economic and investment relations in recent years was noted with satisfaction. The number of joint projects and enterprises has doubled.
– All of you are really doing a lot for the development of Uzbek-German multifaceted relations, and your projects are examples of long-term successful cooperation. And I appreciate it very much," the head of our state stressed.
The leader of our country, separately focusing on the priorities of further expansion of cooperation with German companies, outlined a number of promising areas.
First of all, it is the development of cooperation and the expansion of the presence of German companies in Uzbekistan. The Head of our state noted the availability of great opportunities for the production of demanded industrial products.
In order to support regional projects, the President of our country proposed to hold a Central Asian exhibition of high industrial technologies of leading German manufacturers in Uzbekistan.
Among the most important areas of partnership is "green" energy. The Head of Uzbekistan noted the successful experience and promising cooperation projects with German partners in the field of alternative energy development.
At the regional level, it was proposed to develop and adopt a program of cooperation with German engineering and design centers and industrial holdings for the implementation of green economy projects.
The President touched upon the importance of joint projects in the field of critical raw materials with the introduction of advanced technological solutions in their processing and the organization of the export of industrial products.
Special attention is paid to food security issues.
"Central Asia has all the necessary potential to fully meet domestic needs and organize the export of high–quality food products to European countries," the head of our state noted.
In this context, the readiness to attract energy-efficient and digital technologies of German companies to the agricultural and water sector of our country was expressed.
It was proposed to hold joint regional events in the food sector.
The President also focused on cooperation in the field of transport and logistics. The importance of developing effective routes connecting Central Asia with Europe was emphasized. For expert support of transport projects, it is proposed to attract specialists from leading German organizations and companies.
Support of initiatives for the training of qualified specialists is called an important direction for the development of Uzbek-German multifaceted cooperation.
In conclusion, the head of our state confirmed his readiness to continue to fully support business initiatives and joint investment projects in Uzbekistan, noting that Central Asia is a region of great opportunities for representatives of German business.
