The President of Uzbekistan received the head of FIFA

On September 20, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting in New York with the head of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) Gianni Infantino.

The leader of our country sincerely congratulated Gianni Infantino on the successful holding of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Uzbekistan's fruitful partnership with FIFA was emphasized with particular satisfaction. Joint programs and projects for the development of football and the broad involvement of young people are being implemented.

The issues of organizing and holding major international FIFA events, including women's and youth championships in our country, were discussed.

The head of the federation congratulated Uzbekistan on the upcoming first World Futsal Championship in 2024, organized under the auspices of FIFA, and wished success in holding it at a high level.

Gianni Infantino also highly appreciated the large-scale work carried out in Uzbekistan to comprehensively support mass and professional football, create a modern infrastructure and educational base.
