On September 18, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva at his residence in New York City.
A thorough exchange of views on the development of the global economic situation took place. The issues of further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation with the IMF were discussed, including in the context of the agreements reached during the bilateral meeting in the city of Samarkand in June this year.
The head of the Foundation highly appreciated the results of the ongoing program of irreversible reforms in Uzbekistan and expressed readiness to continue close cooperation in promoting effective transformations in the country.
During the meeting, the issues of the IMF's participation in conducting a comprehensive analysis of the stability of the national financial sector, providing advisory assistance in developing proposals for improving economic policy, as well as implementing a program to increase the capacity of specialists of our country's departments were discussed.
