On September 5, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan headed by the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of this country, General Asim Munir.
Issues of further development of the Uzbek-Pakistani multifaceted cooperation and strengthening of strategic partnership relations were discussed.
At the beginning of the meeting, the distinguished guest conveyed to the head of our state the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Pakistan Arif Alvi and Acting Prime Minister Anwar Kakar.
During the conversation, special attention was paid to maintaining high growth dynamics of mutual trade, accelerating the implementation of infrastructure projects and strengthening cooperation ties between the leading enterprises of the two countries in accordance with the adopted roadmap.
The sides exchanged views on issues of ensuring regional security, including in the context of the development of the situation in Afghanistan.
The importance of coordinating practical efforts in order to promote the construction project of the Termez–Mazar-I–Sharif-Peshawar railway was emphasized.
