On August 8, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the Turkish company "Cengiz Holding" headed by Chairman of the Board Mehmet Cengiz.
The issues of further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects for the development and modernization of sectors of the economy of our country, were considered.
It should be noted that with the participation of this leading multi–profile holding of Turkey, two projects were successfully completed in Uzbekistan - modern power plants were commissioned in the Tashkent and Syrdarya regions with a total capacity of 460 megawatts.
During the meeting, the head of our state was informed in detail about the performance of these energy facilities.
In addition, the President of Uzbekistan launched the construction of another power plant in the Jizzakh region with a capacity of over 500 megawatts.
Cengiz Holding also presented plans for the implementation of new projects with a total value of more than $ 5 billion.
Among them are modernization and construction of highways and tunnels, geological exploration and development of promising mineral deposits, management of energy infrastructure on the terms of public–private partnership.
The leader of Uzbekistan has given instructions for the speedy preparation and full-scale implementation of promising projects with the participation of a Turkish investor.
