The President visited industrial enterprises

On August 2, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the activities of enterprises in the Angren Free Economic Zone.

The economic zone, established in 2012, has expanded in recent years. Today it covers the city of Angren, Akhangaran district, part of the city of Bekabad. Today there are 76 enterprises operating in this zone, employing more than 11 thousand people.

Among them is an enterprise worth $ 23 million of the limited liability company “Premier elektrotech". Launched in December last year, the company is capable of producing 100,000 washing machines and 200,000 refrigerators per year, as well as exporting products worth $ 1 million. 350 people work here.

Currently, the first phase of the project has been completed, work is underway to expand production. The second stage will be put into operation in December this year and will create 450 jobs.

The company also produces other household appliances, including televisions and air conditioners. These competitive products are exported to the CIS countries.

The Head of State noted that there is a ready-made industrial infrastructure in Akhangaran, which is a good base for attracting foreign investment. To increase the number of such enterprises, a proposal was made to organize an electrical industry zone.

Five years ago, there was a vacant lot on the site of the Akhangaran metal pipe plant. In 2018, work on the construction of an industrial complex began here. The equipment for this $49 million project was imported from Turkey. Capacities for the production of 205 thousand tons of metal products per year have been created, 250 people have been employed. For 6 months of this year, almost $ 4 million worth of products were exported.

The Silk plast quality enterprise is capable of producing 13 thousand tons of polymer pipes and fittings per year. Employment of 78 people is provided.

Here the head of state got acquainted with the exhibition of products produced in the free economic zone "Angren". Instructions are given on the formation of new projects, increasing employment of the population.

In the free economic zone, work has begun on 42 more projects, as a result of which more than 5 thousand jobs will be created.
