As part of the working visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Moscow on May 8, a meeting with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin took place in the Kremlin.
The issues of further strengthening of Uzbek-Russian relations of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance were considered. Special attention is paid to the expansion of multifaceted practical cooperation in priority areas.
At the beginning of the conversation, the leaders of the two countries exchanged sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of Victory in World War II, warmly wishing veterans, friendly peoples of the world, well-being and prosperity.
The President of Russia also congratulated the head of our state on the successful holding of a national referendum on amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
At the meeting, the importance of supporting existing and promoting promising cooperation projects of leading enterprises and companies of the two countries, including within the framework of the Intergovernmental Commission, was stressed.
High appreciation was given to the fruitful results of the International Industrial Exhibition "Innoprom" held last month in the city of Tashkent.
The necessity of taking coordinated measures to ensure the dynamics of mutual trade turnover was noted. Active contacts at the level of the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia were supported.
In addition, they expressed interest in continuing intensive cultural and humanitarian exchange, including holding events in the field of healthcare, science
and education, culture and art.
The schedule of upcoming international events was also considered.
