The Presidents of Uzbekistan and Belarus discussed topical issues of practical cooperation

The issues of accelerating joint cooperation projects and ensuring the dynamics of trade relations were discussed during a telephone conversation between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, held on May 4.

At the beginning of the conversation, the President of Belarus sincerely congratulated on the successful holding of the referendum on amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held on April 30 this year.

The Presidents noted with satisfaction the consistent development of Uzbek-Belarusian cooperation.

A set of bilateral events is being held within the framework of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The volume of mutual trade turnover and the number of joint ventures are growing.

Particular attention was paid to the timely implementation of joint industrial cooperation projects in mechanical engineering, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, electrical engineering and other industries on the basis of the adopted roadmap.

In order to accelerate them, the importance of holding a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and continuing active interregional exchanges was noted.
