Climate change is one of the most serious threats to the sustainable development and well-being of mankind in the XXI century. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the average global surface temperature of the earth has increased by 1.1°C compared to the pre-industrial period, and the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere has reached record levels.

At the invitation of the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on November 30 – December 2, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Dubai to participate in the United Nations Conference on Climate Change.

On November 27, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the launch ceremony of projects to connect a modern combined-cycle power plant with a capacity of 1,500 megawatts to the electricity supply network in the Syrdarya region and the start of construction of a pilot production of "green hydrogen" in the Tashkent region, implemented jointly with the leading Saudi company ACWA Power.
