On April 29 President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the head of the World Swimming Federation, Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia Husain Al-Musallam and First vice president of the Association of National Olympic Committees, president of Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani.

The Head of State was presented with information on the measures for supporting low-income families, ensuring employment of people with disabilities, and expanding the scope and types of social services.

During the elections for members of the UN Statistical Commission for the 2026-2029 term, held in New York, Uzbekistan was elected to this body for the first time in its history.

The UN General Assembly in New York adopted the resolution initiated by Uzbekistan titled “Decade of Action on Afforestation and Reforestation in Accordance with Sustainable Forest Management”.
