In the context of globalization, issues of poverty reduction and sustainable employment are addressed not only through national efforts but also through international experience and institutional cooperation. Particularly, the enhancement of knowledge and professional capacity of public officials responsible for these areas is a crucial strategic factor. In this regard, the new collaboration between the Center for the Professional Development of Employees of the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Turkey is recognized as an important initiative aimed at developing human capital.

In the context of globalization, modernizing the labor market, ensuring employment, and reducing poverty cannot be effectively addressed without international cooperation. From this perspective, the systematic collaboration between the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security of the Republic of Turkey holds strategic importance for both countries. This cooperation encompasses comprehensive reforms aimed at increasing the competitiveness of labor resources, aligning the professional qualification system with international standards, and creating sustainable employment opportunities for citizens.

Over the past eight years, relations between Uzbekistan and Türkiye have undergone a profound qualitative transformation, evolving from traditionally friendly ties into a full-fledged strategic partnership with a strong economic, investment, and industrial dimension. While the period prior to 2017 was largely characterized by inertia, the launch of large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan marked a decisive shift in bilateral relations toward practical cooperation focused on trade, investment, and joint manufacturing.

Today, one of the priority areas of state policy in Uzbekistan is focused on expanding forested areas, increasing green coverage, mitigating the negative impacts of climate change, and ensuring environmental sustainability. In order to achieve effective results in these areas, studying advanced foreign experience and adapting it to the country’s climatic conditions is of particular importance. 

Uzbekistan and Turkey are consistently developing bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the fields of ecology and environmental protection, paying special attention to the exchange of experience, the introduction of modern technologies, and the professional development of specialists.

The upcoming official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Türkiye reflects the deepening strategic partnership between the two countries. One of the most dynamic areas of this cooperation is labor migration, built on mutual trust and a shared human-centered vision.

On 29 January, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will undertake an official visit to Türkiye. During the visit, the fourth meeting of the Supreme Council for Strategic Cooperation is scheduled to take place, underscoring the growing bilateral ties between the two countries. As part of the visit, President Mirziyoyev will also participate in an online ceremony inaugurating residential complexes built by Uzbekistan in the Arsuz district of Hatay Province, one of the areas most severely affected by the February 2023 earthquake. The project reflects ongoing efforts to support earthquake-affected communities through international collaboration.

At the invitation of President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay an official visit to Türkiye on January 29.
