On its official website, the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) published recently the Final Report of the Election Observation Mission (EOM) on the Presidential Elections in the Republic of Uzbekistan that took place on 24 October 2021. In this regard, an OSCE/ODIHR delegation is expected in Uzbekistan with a visit to officially present the Report and discuss its aspects.           

Openness and transparency are considered among the most effective tools in the fight against corruption and its prevention. Thus, the efforts instigated in Uzbekistan to secure the rule of law, introduce effective forms of openness and transparency, establish genuine public control over the activities of government authorities have been gaining momentum as decisive and steadfast in nature.

According to the decision of the Republican Special Commission, from June 10, 2022, the temporary restrictions related to coronavirus on entry into Uzbekistan for tourist purposes by air, border railway stations and border checkpoints. 

Foreign citizens entering the Republic of Uzbekistan are not required to take a PCR test or an express antigen test for coronavirus infection if they have a valid certificate or passport of vaccination (with an electronic QR code).
