On April 30, 2023, the Parliament of Uzbekistan scheduled a referendum on the amendments to the Constitution of the Republic.

The issues of preparation and holding of a referendum on amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan were discussed at the meeting of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the head of the mission of the Bureau for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE/ODIHR) Albert Jonsson, held on April 20.
