December 10, 2023 marks the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Adopted at the 3rd session of the UN General Assembly and containing recommendations to the member countries of the organization, this normative act reveals the rights of all people living on planet Earth. This historical document has been translated into more than 500 languages and dialects of the world and is the most frequently translated, for which it entered the Guinness Book of Records. The declaration, consisting of 30 articles, has become part of international human rights law.
 

This year, the international community commemorates two significant milestones: the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the 30th anniversary of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action on Human Rights. The remarkable history of the Universal Declaration has effectively demonstrated the universal value of human rights. These rights are indispensable for the attainment of peace, security, and sustainable development.

On December 6, a telephone conversation took place between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov.

The 31nd anniversary of the adoption of the country's Constitution is being celebrated in a particularly upbeat spirit and festive atmosphere, since this year the new version of the Basic Law was adopted as a result of a nationwide referendum. For the first time in the history of national statehood, we have a perfect Constitution in all respects, the priority norms of which have gained direct effect.

The reform of society aimed at comprehensive modernization and socio-economic breakthrough cannot be imagined without liberalization and the formation of an effective system for the protection of human rights and freedoms. And it is quite natural that Uzbekistan's reforms pay great attention to the democratization of all aspects of society. Constitutional reform has become one of the steps towards achieving these goals. 

As you know, on the initiative of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the “Month of Sustainable Development Goals” is being held in our country. Within its framework, over 20 events are held - international conferences, round tables, public hearings dedicated to each of the Sustainable Development Goals adopted in Uzbekistan.
